 "Omega juicer is great" 2009-06-20
By mary bankes (Malvern, pa United States)
This is my first juicer and it is great. It is sturdy, powerful, and works as described. It's easy to use and wash. I struggled with the price but it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this juicer.

 "I love the Omega 8005" 2009-03-06
By J. Manos (Nashville, Tn)
I have had my Omega juicer for almost 6 months now. I juice everyday and have tried 2 other juicers before this one. I love it. It's easy to clean up and has a blank plate that we use for making 'ice cream' by running frozen fruit through it. Even the kids use it! Happy happy with it.

 "A Great Little Juicer!" 2009-02-04
By J. Maner (Texas)
This is my second juicer. My first was the centrifical type. The one is just soooo superior to the previous one. The unit has a solid, but not TOO heavy weight, and it does not take up a tremendous amount of counter space either. The parts are not that complicated after reading the manual and spending about 5 min. figuring it out. The parts are heavy-duty plastic -- not flimsy at all. The clean up is very fast as well, I think, compared to my old juicer.

You do have to cut some of the fruits and vegetables into chunks or slices to fit into the feeder; however, they feed very well, it only takes a few extra moments to cut them up, and the consistency is quite good, the pulp is very dry, and I only had to strain the juice with the supplied hand strainer for my daughter as I liked it just the way it comes out, myself. I made carrot bread one day with the pulp as well.

I puried a soft tomato that I normally would have had to throw out for tomato sauce in a recipe' with the blank insert that also comes with instead of the juicer insert, and I made a frozen banana blueberry desert that was very good! I found out that it will also chop up veggies for soups or salsa, and also has inserts that will extrude pasta. I'm excited to try that soon as well!

 "A Great Juicer" 2009-02-02
By W. Sklar (Henderson, Nevada USA)
Bought this as a replacement to my Juicman juicer (now ancient).

I've been very happy with the Omega. It stays out on my counter as a permanent fixture in the kitchen now as a constant reminder to use it each day. Here are some things to keep in mind when considering this vs. other juicers:

1) Masticating juicers are not meant for casual juicers. If you are going to juice only carrots on the weekend, this is not the juicer for you. You'll spend more and be satisfied with a <$100 centrifugal juicer.

2) Cleanup is a breeze. It's actually easier than my old Juiceman.

3) Be prepared to cut things down to size. The chute is small so even carrots sometimes need te be cut up.

Overall, juicing takes about 5x longer with a masticating juicer. The benefits are: better juice, more juice, a quiet machine and the ability to juice greens.

 "Dissappointed and Frustrated" 2009-08-14
By Madeline Hamilton (Minnesota)
I purchased my Omega 9000 after doing some research. Well I turned on my juicer and it did a dance and it's very loud. Even after I turn off the juicer it still was running so I unplugged it still going. I was told it will stay on for a minute after use. I paid $230, I thought it was alittle too high, and you know the old saying, "you get what you pay for" Well Not In this purchase! I start to break it down for cleaning. Wow what a challenge! It took 15 minutes to break it down didn't come with instruction as it said it did, and just to remove the pulp and 20 plus minutes to wash the 7 pieces and if you're in a rush and don't have the convenience of a dish washer OH WELL, your sol*********. I wanted to return it and I was told no refund. Now had I knew that I wouldn't have waisted my time with omega -9000. I don't know what I will do with this piece of waiste, I'm afraid to give it to anyone because if I don't want it, how can I give it to some one else. I really want my money back! I'll go back to Mr. Juicer it was cheap and maintenance free. I gave my daughter mine Mr. Juicer due to the fact she was fighting Cancer she's better now but I'm not.

"good juicer for a great price" 2009-06-07
By Chialing Lu (NYC)
The Omega 9000 juicer is a good juicer.

I've had an Acme 6001 for years and it has served me well. When it was time for a new juicer, I bought the Breville since it was such a "hot item".

Big mistake! Unless you want it to "keep up with the Joneses" and think having a big shiny juicer in your kitchen is more about prestige and less about health, then the Breville is for you.

Back to the Omega. The Omega 9000 makes pulp feel like a shirt. It's pretty dry.

Big up to Amazon & HealthNut for it's speedy pick up of the Breville and quick delivery of the Omega (2 days), which is actually well-designed and has good yield.

Now for the cons: carrot residue sticks to the bottom and along the periphery of the basket which goes inside the bowl. It took me a long time to scrub off. Maybe a filter will help, but I never had that problem with the Acme and it was built many moons ago in the 90's. If it wasn't for that design flaw, I'd give it another star.

One last thing. Make sure you process the fruit & vegetables in the right order. For some reason, if you put, say, cucumber and parsley first, before the carrot, the juicer will flip out and do a dance on the counter. I experienced this w/ the Acme as well. So go slow at first & read the tips about what to process first & how.

Cheers.

 "THIS IS THE ONE" 2009-05-25
By scripley (Chapel Hill)
I'm amazed that there aren't hundreds of five-star reviews for this item. I shopped for a juicer for MONTHS, literally. After painstaking research - including reading dozens of reviews like this one, and looking at Consumer Reports - I finally decided on the Omega 9000. I wanted the model in black, but shopped at several different websites and couldn't find a black one. So I settled for the white model. That's the only negative comment I can make about the entire transaction. Not only is the juicer easy to use and compact (despite what another Amazon reviewer says, it's much smaller than comparable machines), it's also backed with a 15-year warranty and excellent service. I had a question in my first week of using the Omega and called the number on the instruction booklet: no recorded message, just a friendly, helpful person. As far as the actual operation/performance of the machine, I couldn't be happier. All stainless steel, it's beautiful and sturdy, and built to last that way. A centrifugal machine, it definitely gets all the juice out of the fruits and vegetables. And with the filters (a great value) clean-up takes less than five minutes. Stop looking. This is the one you want. You'll enjoy fresh juice for (at least) the next fifteen years...

I am very pleased with my Omega 9000 juicer except for the color. I wanted black! I received white. I shopped all over for black and went with Amazon for my purchase because the photo showed it in black. I knew there was a possibility that it was being misrepresented because black was hard to find. There was no color listed in Amazon's ad, only the one photo in black (even though the juicer comes in black or white).

I am disappointed in you Amazon.

 "Filter for centrifugal juicer" 2009-03-04
By G. Harcourt (San Antonio Texas)
Simple - direct and easy to use. Helps with clean up. Not meant for some types of items one might juice. Grapes plug it up easily - as do blackberries. Works fine for carrots and apples. Does diminish the efficacy of the juicer to some extent. I use it in an Acme Juicerator. It fits fine.

Be sure to dry the drum before installing - once the filter becomes damp or wet applying it to the inside of the drum is problematic.

Amazon has a very good price for this. For the money, it was a bit of a shock to see how small a packet it is. The paper is like those papers that are used in perms, the ones they put on the rollers. It is that thin. The papers do make it a bit easier to clean the juicer but they also keep the juice thin so I think I would only use them in certain circumstances. For those who need a thin juice, using this is probably the easiest method.

These are a must - it's a relief not to have to clean the metal basket every time you use it, because the million little holes are almost impossible to clean well by hand (but a dishwasher can work well, too). The filters are cheap and easy to use - I just install another one right after putting the thing back together after cleaning, and then it's ready to go. 200 filters are gonna last me a year or more.

"Pros & Cons compared with Omega 9000" 2009-11-05
By MahJongg Rave
Pros:

1. Solidly-built. Looks like it will last forever. (So is the 9000)

2. A breeze to clean. (Much faster than the 9000)

3. Better than Omega 9000 in that you can continuously juice large quantities without stopping to clean.

Cons:

1. Really small chute

2. Carrots are LOTS faster in the 9000 and seem to have a similar yield. If you're used to the speed of a centrifugal juicer, the slow speed of this juicer might seem tiresome.

3. You really need to push down hard in the 8004, so if you have any disabilities or wrist problems, this is NOT the juicer for you.

4. My old Omega 9000 is different, but no worse.

-- I'm not sure that the yield is all that different.

-- The taste is no different.

-- I'm not sure that the old Omega "heats the juice and destroys the enzymes" as the juice in the 9000 still comes out plenty cold. Instead of spreading this "rumor," someone should really test it and see if centrifugal juicing really "destroys enzymes."

5. The first time I used this juicer a few weeks ago, I started with spinach, then tried using a carrot to push it in, like with the 9000. Bad idea! The whole feed chute jammed up, and because of the "L" shape, it took me an hour to slowly pick out the spinach and extract the carrot.

Summary: Although this juicer is significantly easier to clean than Omega 9000, it might not be better for everyone. Please note that I'm comparing it to the centrifugal juicer that keeps the pulp in the basket for continuous spinning. I would not recommend a "pulp ejector" juicer to anyone (Too loud and wasteful of produce.)

Well built machine. It does a very good job, not very large, very quite, very easy to use and easy to clean in seconds. Everything is working great as they said and the machine looks very reliably made. The only recommendation I have is to include a picture reference / instructions manual. I would recommend that juicer to everyone interested in low speed juicers.

LOVE this juicer! New to juicing, borrowed a friend's monster to try, but this is so much better. Small enough to handle and clean easily, tough enough to get the job done. Was worried the juicing thing would be too much of an ordeal, but this one makes it easy. When it quits spinning, just tilt it toward spout to get an extra tablespoon or two of juice from the chamber. I'm using it every day.

I love this little juicer. Since I bought it, we've been using it every morning to make our own apple and carrot juice. About 8 oz each time.

It's very powerful.

I was amazed how much juice would come out of the little carrots!

I always 'hated' fruit juices. My family has never seen me order or buy fruit juices. But ever since we started making fresh juice, I love fresh fruit juice now.

One red delicious apple and 2 carrots would make plenty for both of us. After about a week, I got greedy and wanted to pack more stuff in our already great juice so I added Black Currant extract powder and Buffered Vit C powder.

I don't mind the cleaning part at all. I use one of those 'magic eraser' sponges and works great.

 "Almost Best Juicer" 2009-11-23
By S. Brianne (Maple Hts.,OH)
I love the way this Juicer juice vegetables easily especially green vegetables. The Juicer itself could stand some improvements the plastic juice stainer does crack very easy and it also stains very easy. After using it for one day I noticed that the strainer was cracked along the plastic bottom. Omega should make the strainer out of stainless steel. Omega should supply more than one of the yellow plastic devices thats needed to make the juice, it would be even better if they would design it so that the little yellow rubber device is not needed. I am going to keep the juicer because I really like the way it performs even thou it takes a little longer to clean and I also like the fact that it takes up very little space on the counter top.

But after her force I bought this juicer. And Now it got it why its so costly. Belive me its worth to spent money on this. It virtually jucies anything and that also without destroying its nutrition. Juices taste so great... Even Cleaning is very very easy. If lazy person like me says cleaning is easy then it cant go better then that.

For people who never did jucing may find this is pricy but once they will buy it they won't be disapointed.

"The good and the bad" 2009-09-26
By Yuriy A. Bouzelev (San Diego, CA)
After hours of searching for constructive criticisms of the new Omega VRT330 juicer I have found none that were helpful enough with respect to the issues that I was having with this machine. So I felt it was necessary to bring some very significant drawbacks of this juicer to light.

I will be comparing the VRT330 to 8006 model, since I own both. I must say that while the VRT330 does a slightly better job at extracting more juice, the degree of difficulty of cleaning the juicer, plus some engineering shortcomings, in my opinion far outweigh the benefits. VRT has some odd plug on the bottom of the plastic tray, which is supposed to be removed every time you clean the juicer. We almost lost one within a week. Perhaps this is why OMEGA includes 2 plugs with a new unit, because bad engineering must be compensated with spare parts over such lengthy warranty. Among other things, within the first two weeks, the metal/plastic screen (filter), whatever it is called, had cracked from regular use and we had begun to use the 10-year warranty. Then, just days after this incident, the top of the juicer locked up, because when I woke up in the morning and with one eye opened, half asleep closed the top tray off by a little, the whole top of the juicer had to go to the manufacture for full replacement as well. Apparently if you close VRT330 in a slightly different position, it locks up for good and there is nothing you can do to open it, unless you want to crack it open. So we wrote/called to their service center, and were promised a replacement right away. It has already been a month, and no replacement came yet, so much for the warranty. Right now, I have a desire to sell this juicer for half the price and get a good Norwalk 275 instead, which can truly last a lifetime. At the moment we use the 8006 model, and it is great. By far a much simpler and better technology than VRT330. It is easier to clean, less parts and is worry free. The reason why I am aiming at Norwalk is because the 8006 was actually bought for my mother, and the Norwalk is appealing because of its press function.

Bottom line: Omega VRT330 - VERT juicer is a bad improvement (In fact I would not really consider it an improvement over 8006), not quite worth the extra 100$. In my opinion the 2009 release of this juicer is like a beta version of Windows Vista, it sucks This is not to say that this machine will not be improved upon, hence I do not mean to stir you away from it for ever, just think OMEGA needs to consider the feedback and polish up on some engineering quirks. Replacement hasn't been ideal either. Having sent the unit to the manufacture a month ago, I do not even know if we are getting anything back anymore. If you are on the market for the juicer, perhaps at this point in time it is reasonable to pass this one up. If you have the chance to buy the 8006, go for it, leave underdeveloped 330VRT to the engineers to improve upon. It has way too many drawbacks to be considered one of the best as it is being advertised. 3 Stars out of 5, and this is really pushing it, really more like 2 1/5.

Conclusion: If I had a choice to have Omega replace the VRT330 for the older 8006 model today, I would without hesitation. I would not recommend the VRT330 to anyone that I know YET, because I believe the product needs serious improvement, which I do not believe will necessarily come soon.

"Great juicer, easy to clean" 2009-09-16
By Dandelion (santa monica)
I received this juicer the other day and am very pleased with it. I spent a lot of time (like the last year!) researching juicers and trying to decide which one I wanted. At first I thought about getting a Breville - they are beautiful looking machines, but a 1 year warranty on a $400 juicer?? That tells me they don't stand behind their products. I also decided against a centrifugal juicer because of the heat they generate and thus the oxidation of the juice. This Omega juicer has a FULL ten year warranty on ALL parts.

This machine is supposed to be a "slow, masticating" juicer. It isn't that slow compared to a centrifugal one. The machine is definitely on the quite side. the pulp comes out fairly dry and I recommend an extruding juicer so you don't have to stop juicing to clean the pulp out. The base/footprint is actually smaller than it looks in the photos. It is on the taller side, but still fits comfortably under my kitchen cabinets. The one thing I will warn about: the chute is on the small side. You will have to cut up a medium/large apple into more than quarters to fit. I don't personally don't mind that because I enjoy juicing.

The juice: no problems with pomegranate or spinach. The main reason I choose the Omega Vert over the Champion or another masticating juicer was because it is capable of juicing leafy greens and a wide variety of fruits (you can juice cherries WITH their seeds) as well as making nut butters (even though Omega does not say you can do this). I like to juice kales and herbs and this juicer can handle it no problem. You can "juice" frozen fruit to make a 100% fruit sorbet.

Clean up is also easy: this is a "self-cleaning juicer!" After you are done juicing, poor water down the chute until clear, then disassemble and rinse. The only parts that require some scrubbing are the mesh strainers. Overall I would say clean up is less than 5 minutes.

Again, I HIGHLY recommend this juicer. I spent a really long time reviewing and researching juicers and am very please with this product (and am glad to know it is fully covered for 10 years). To see this guy in action search for "omega vert" on youtube and watch the videos posted by "rawfoods aka Discount Juicers" - they sealed the deal for me on getting this juicer.

"The New Generation of Juicers" 2009-08-21
By Jimmy Morelli (South Boston, MA)
The first impression.

Let me start off by saying the construction of this machine is impressive. There was not a flimsy piece of plastic on the entire machine. The entire set-up is heavy gauge plastic, the machine easily reflects the $350 price tag, no questions asked. The machine is a lot heavier than most kitchen appliances, which is not a bad a thing. The machine was easy to clean and easy to assemble.

Performance.

To use this juicer you will need to cut up the produce, such as beets, apples, anything large and round. You need to cut them up anyway with your 3" shoot on the centrifugal juicer, most apples don't fit and the larger beats don't either. I use the apple corer/cuter from Pampered Chef, you can use it for the beets as well. Carrots fit fine, I could see some of the very large carrots needing to be cut.

The juicing operation is fast and effort less. They give you a pusher but you will not need it. The machine's design automatically pulls the produce into the hopper. All you need to do if feed the machine. The machine is extremely quiet, such a relief when I first turned it on, it almost sounds like a can opener but quieter. It's pretty simple, the produce gets crushed by the auger then pressed against the top metal mesh filter ring, then squeezed more then pressed against the bottom filter ring (there is one filter that consists of a top metal filter about an inch of plastic separating then a bottom ring, check the picture to get a better idea). There is also a outer self cleaning cover over the filter with three sets of three squiggy things one for the top filter, one for the bottom filter and one large one for the outer case. This thing cleans itself as it works, pour some water in the machine between juicing and it removes the remnants of what you just juiced, getting it ready for your next produce. Don't get me wrong this thing does not literally clean itself but the self cleaning mechanism makes it simple to clean at the end of juicing. The juice is separated from the pulp and flows out a spout in the bottom front of the machine and the pulp gets pushed out a shoot on the bottom side, it's actually pretty cool to watch, there is very little juice left in the pulp, much more efficient than the 3 models I tried.

Quality of the juice.

They advertise that by squeezing the produce you get a better tasting juice with more vitamins. I was skeptical when I read it. When I took my first sip of carrot juice I could tell the difference immediately. I couldn't figure out how to describe it though, it's both juice from a carrot, how can one taste so different. This might not make sense but this is how I will describe the taste difference. The juice from the centrifugal machines taste as if it was watered down compared to the juice from the Omega Vert. When I took my first sip of apple juice, there was no comparisons, the taste was so crisp and fresh, actually like taking a bite from an apple. I was amazed at the difference.

Orange juice from every juicer I have used never tasted like the fresh squeezed store bought juice, With the Omega Vert it does, same consistency with no separation, the separation you see in the glass of juice from a centrifugal juicer is what gives it the watered down taste. I am not knocking the juice that comes from other machines but to understand what I am saying you need to find away to taste the juice this machine puts out. I guarantee you will instantly taste the difference as I have and have an entire different outlook on juicing. I guess the high rpm's actually cause flavor to be lost, my theory is the shredding and spinning not the heat as others say, the machine spins so quickly that most of the liquid that escapes is water that is missing most of the vitamins, sugars, flavor and fibers. The Omega Vert operates at very low rmp's, and squeezes instead of shreds and spins

The one thing Omega did say was that there is no froth to the juice as it is squeezed and not spun, this was not true. There was very little froth compared to centrifugal models but it is present, but as I said there is no visible separation of the juice and it tastes absolutely fantastic.

Conclusion.

This juicer is expensive, but from what I have seen on my first day it is worth it just on construction alone, plus it comes with a 10 year FULL warranty, if anything breaks it is replaced. I have not dealt with their customer service department that much, I did asks them two questions via e-mail and it took 24 hours for a reply, but that's normal. They did ship the juicer out within 7 days which is good for a manufacturer. I hope I never have to deal with them enough to write about it in a review.

If juicing is a lifestyle to you then this is the juicer for you, hands down. It takes a little bit longer to prepare produce and clean the machine, add up that total extra time between this juicer and a centrifugal one and your only looking at a 5 minute difference. It all depends on how you prepare and what handy kitchen tools you have. I have only used this machine once but I have been juicing long enough to know a good thing when I see it. I want to submit this review because there are very few out there. From what I have seen with the quality the juice I am convinced I found my juicer. Only time will tell regarding to the machines durability and reliability, but as I said this thing is built like a tank and has a 10 year full warranty.

If you are going to purchase this juicer than purchase it through Omega's website, www.omegajuicer.com , they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. Amazon does not carry this juicer so you will not get their guarantee, every site selling on Amazon only excepts returns where the box has not been opened and the machine has never used plus add on to that a hefty restocking fee. I like shopping with the little guy but that is crazy. I like purchasing Amazon when I can as they have never done wrong by me but it was unfortunate they didn't carry this.

I normally don't leave a review at least a good review until I have used the product for at least two weeks, sometimes more. There are very little reviews out there of this juicer out there and it needs more as it is worth it. I have fallen in love with this thing and am convinced this thing is golden. I just want others out there to make sure they are aware I have only used this once , I used carrots, beets, oranges and celery on this all with great results and great performance. If you check You Tube you can find videos of demonstrations and comparisons with other machines. Checkout the Alive and aware site or Ferns, both sell this juicer on Amazon, they have good info and videos. Also try discountjuicers.com they have good info as well. Just remember if you buy and want a 30 day guarantee return policy buy from Omegajuicers.com.

Hope this helps.
